Our culture and values guide our belief that Bud must have a positive impact on the success of our people, communities and our environment.
Nelson had no previous experience of welding and he laughs when he shares his journey. “Before this, welding was just a name. I had no idea what it really meant. Now I know all the machinery from laser to welding, Axl to robots. I didn’t think being a welder would be my career but I was unemployed since 2015
and Afrit helped me.”
Like many of the workers at Afrit, Nelson is the breadwinner in his family. “I’m supporting my parents and my family is so proud of me. This job has helped me so much. Working here gives you skills and experience so one day you can employ other people,” he says.
Nelson now has ambitions for his future.“I’d like to improve my skills and help Afrit with technical skills. I want to make a trade design, such as making unique drills. I can see what they need".
As we do, our people also recognise their responsibility to be sustainable in all they do, and some of our employees have gone further than expected to contribute to their communities and the environment that they work in.
As an integrated group, Bud’s diversified business model positions us as leaders in our markets, consisting of industrial services and minerals beneficiation.
