Glynn
Burger

Glynn is a CA(SA) and also has a Master’s in Business Leadership. He joined Investec in 1980 and was the group Risk and Finance Director until April 2019. He has since served as a non-executive director of The IEP Group since its formation.

Ian
Forbes

Ian received a Dip in Metallurgy and an MBA, from UCT. He obtained the Owner President Program, from Harvard in 2018. Previously served as CEO of Sappi SA and acquired Ferro SA in 2004, serving as CEO, before taking on the role of CEO, in 2016, of SynChem (now BudChem), on its formation. Ian is the Executive Deputy Chairman of BudChem.

Jo
Grove

Jo qualified with an Advanced Masters Programme from Oxford. He has vast experience in both finance and banking, serving on the boards of MLS Bank and Imperial Holdings. He was previously Chief Executive of both Unitrans Limited and KAP Industrial Holdings Limited (KAP). He currently serves as non-executive chairman of Bud Industrial Services and has served as a non-executive director of The IEP Group since its formation.

Koseff

Stephen is a qualified CA(SA) who joined Investec in 1980 and served as the Group CEO of Investec Bank Limited and Investec Bank plc for 22 years. Stephen Koseff is Chairman of the Bidcorp Board, a former Director of the JSE and former Chairman of the South African Banking Association.

Leith

Andy is a qualified CA (SA) with over 25 years experience in all aspects of M&A and equity market activity. He joined Investec in 1994 and went on to become joint Managing Director of Investec South Africa and International Head of Investment Banking. He became CEO of The IEP Group in 2016 and currently serves as CEO of Bud Group (Pty) Ltd.

Saad

Stephen is a qualified CA(SA) with over 25 years of commercial and pharmaceutical experience. He previously founded Covan Zurich and subsequently Aspen Pharmacare where he currently serves as CEO. He also served as a non-executive director of The IEP Group since its formation.

Nkunku
Sowazi

Nkunku holds a BA (United States Int’l University), and a MA (UCLA). He is the chairman of Kagiso Tiso Holdings (KTH) and in 2001 was a co-founder of the Tiso Group. He boasts over 20 years’ experience in investment and operational management. He previously served on a number of JSE listed companies and currently serves as non-executive chairman of Bud Chemicals and Minerals.

Andre qualified as a CA(SA) in 2002 and became the CEO of Afrit (Pty) Ltd and the Afrit Group in 2005 and continues to hold the position while serving as an Executive Director on the Board of Bud Industrial Services.

Wainright

Richard is a qualified CA (SA) who joined Investec in 1995. He was appointed as the South African Head of Investec Corporate and Institutional Banking in 2001 and currently serves as the CEO of Investec Bank Limited.

He then joined Investec Principal Investments “IPI”, as a founding member and equity specialist, where he concluded and managed multiple transactions over 15 years. In this time Greg also qualified as a CFA and completed the Leadership Development Programme (Alumni) at Harvard Business School. In 2016 he was part of the management team that led the buyout of the private equity business at Investec Bank. In 2018 he became Chief Executive Officer of Bud Chemicals and Minerals.

Neil started his career at the asset management business called Melville Douglas which he was MD of for a number of years. This business was acquired by Standard Bank in 2001. As a Director Neil held leadership positions within Standard Bank, being appointed as Director and Head of Private Banking and Wealth in 2006. Neil was appointed as CEO of Goscor in 2010 and became CEO of Bud Industrial Services in 2019.

Booth

Nick Booth's career at Corobrik started as a production trainee in 1980. Nick left Corobrik and went on to join the refractory industry in 1992 and Ceramic Industries in 1998. He was promoted to CEO of Ceramic Industries in 2001 and took over at the helm of Itatile as CEO from July 2014. Nick has played the role of COO at Corobrik and took on the role of CEO in 2020.

Riaan was appointed Group CEO in 2017 after serving as non-executive director of Assupol from 2013. Before joining Assupol, he was Managing Director at Natsure, a position he held for 8 years. He started his career at Metropolitan Life in 1988, and qualified as an actuary in 1990, whereafter he held various positions at Momentum, before joining Natsure.
